Allison Handcrafted Shutters
Allison Handcrafted Shutters based on an early American folk art where designs were "punched" into metal sheets for functional art peices. Hence the term "punched tin" when referring to this type of folkart. A very common use of this technique was in the making of a cupboard also known as a "pie safe", which can be found in most antique shops today. In a window treatment like shutters the peirced metal designs allow light to pass through the design creating a very unique and attractive look. And yet, the punched holes are small enough to ensure adequate privacy.
