Black Mountain Farmers Market
We're local, we're small, and we like it that way! We've participated in our local Black Mountain Saturday morning tailgate farmers' market from 1995 through 2008, and decided in 2003 to create a store as a sort-of full time tailgate market. Fine folks meet other fine folks at our place, and we think that's what life is all about: having good friends and sharing good food with them. Elaine comes from a long line of midwestern farmers. She spent virtually every summer of her childhood working in her family's huge garden, along with her father or under his direction. Hard work and appreciation are values that come naturally to Elaine, somewhat like those shared among the Amish community. Harry wasn't exposed to fresh produce direct from the garden until he was in his 20's. It took only nanoseconds for him to realize the vast difference between FRESH produce and canned, frozen, or aged produce. Harry has an amazing memory for facts, loves little more than being in his greenhouse, and loves to share what he's learned about growing those precious fresh fruits and veggies.
