Briar Rose Farm
Tom and Judie established Briar Rose Farm in l994. Like many new to the area, they wanted a simple more rural lifestyle that would bring them in closer contact with nature. Where but these wonderful mountains can one find such a hospitable climate, great people, and indescribable beauty? Expecting to remodel the old 1800?s farmhouse for visiting family, it evolved into a cabin for rent that encompasses the best of rustic charm with well thought out comfort. A lifetimes worth of odd collectibles grace the rafters affording a unique and often surprising view that delights the cabin guests. Located on 160 acres, guests are invited and even encouraged to roam the farm and surrounding areas. Climbing to the Duckett Top Fire Tower located at the end of a two mile hike along Tug Fork Creek as it tumbles alongside the path is a treat, reveals spectacular views. Staying closer to the farm, the Belted Galloway cattle, cashmere and dairy goats, chickens, and guineas provide entertainment and even education opportunities for those who choose to visit our farm. Guests are invited to gather eggs from the chickens, harvest organic vegetables and herbs from the garden, explore our new greenhouse, even milk a goat, should they desire.
