Karen Chappell began Clay Art Jewelry in the mountains of North Carolina to transform her detailed artwork into three dimensional form, to be enjoyed every day.

Influenced by the natural beauty and diversity of the region, her creations range from whimsical to landscapes and contemporary forms.

This unusual jewelry is formed by hand from polymer clay and is lightweight, but durable. Each piece is created individually and incorporates detailed characteristics and textures formed with delicate sculpting tools. Pieces of colored clay are combined in measured quantities to find just the right blend of tone and pattern.

Each piece of clay art jewelry may include several layers of detail, color, and texture. It is created to lighten the heart, bringing a sense of wonder and imagination to view in detail not to be overlooked.
