Note: The Map link on this page will get you to Surrett Cove Road. However, the location of Sandy Mush Herb Nursery is incorrect. We are actually about 1 1/2 miles further up. Please use the following directions.
HOURS: THURSDAY, FRIDAY & SATURDAY, 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Go northwest from Asheville NC on NC 63/New Leicester Highway, for about 11.5 miles. Turn left at the Trading Post store on the left. Stay on the main, primary road for about 8 miles. This stretch goes over Earley’s Mountain and changes name several times.
Turn right onto Surrett Cove Road. Go to end of state maintained paved portion of the road (about a mile). Bear left for about 20’---turn right (there is another Surrett Cove Road sign); go up the narrow, gravel, sometimes steep, road for 9 tenths of a mile to the parking area in front of the greenhouses & nursery on the left. Any pets must remain in your vehicle, please!
Directions to Surrett Cove from Exit 33 from I-40 at Canton, NC, west of Asheville: At end of exit, go east briefly (towards Leicester & away from Canton). Turn west onto Black Chestnut aka Freedom Road, then right onto Beaverdam Road. Go a total of 9 miles to a stop sign (This journey takes you to top of mtn on pavement where the name changes to Willow Creek and surface to gravel. Go down to pavement and travel through valley to stop sign.) Turn left, go about 1¼ miles to Surrett Cove.
